Choose to Live

Do you sometimes feel that circumstances in your life are too much to bear?  Have you even found yourself contemplating suicide?  You are not alone.  Please take the time to read this... your life is worth it!

Many people have faced tormenting situations also and have felt hopeless.  I want to share with you that while there is still breath in your body, there is hope.  Things may seem very dark right now and you may not see how it can ever get better, but I can tell you by my own experience that it can.

I was once in a very dark and tormenting place in my life.  I also did not want to live.  I felt hopeless and could not see any way out on my own.  But the Lord, Jesus Christ impressed upon my heart that if I would surrender all that I am to Him, He would be the answer.  I had nothing to lose.  It was follow Him or lose all, because ultimately without Him there is no hope.  I had already tried other ways to ease my situation, to no avail.  The moment I surrendered to Jesus Christ, He began to heal me.

God's Word states, "The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as those who have a contrite spirit." (Psalms 34:18)

Jesus will forgive all your sins if you give your life completely to Him.   You may wonder how just having a relationship with Jesus can make a difference.  It is because Jesus is the Son of God and is God.  Without going into complex theology, if you can just accept that, then you can also accept that since He is God, He is all powerful, all loving, all knowing, and all you need!  He loves you so much that He gave His own life for you.  Would He not then do all it takes to bring you to a place of peace?

If you are contemplating suicide, please don't keep it a secret.  Tell someone.  Tell a parent, a trusted friend, a counselor, pastor, police officer, or a teacher.  Know that you are worth helping.  There is no problem to big for the Lord and no person is worthless to Him.

Claim this verse for yourself, "I shall not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord."  (Psalms 118:17)

May the grace of God be with you.
